{Scrts Xpsd} Funbi @Datfunkyfro #naturalhair

As I prepare to move close to 7,000 miles away from home, my interest in international Curl-geous Gurls has been at an all time high!  I was lucky enough to come across Funbi, a funky ole school girl who resides in Geneva, Switzerland! During the day she is a college student, her extra time is spent blogging and vlogging about her FunkyFro as well as whipping up products for her very own Natural hair line OmoOgoNaturals.

Close to a year and a half ago, Funbi decided to go natural because she wanted a head full of healthy hair. She realized that perms weren't a healthy option and wanted to experience the versatiltiy of natural hair. After transitioning for six months she decided to rock her kinky, coily God-given hair. Funbi is a believer in protective styles, " protective styling helps to minimize manipulation and thus increases length retention." She can be caught rocking twists or flat twist and the funky twist-out.

Catch up with Funbi on twitter, visit her blog, see her in action on Youtube and check out her OmoOgoNatural hairline!

What are your staple products and utensils.
I do have a few staples : Coconut oil, shea butter, olive oil, honey, glycerin, my homemade gel and my Shea-Cocoa Omo Ogo Naturals Hair Butter.

What have been some of the set backs along your journey?
Breakage. Last summer, I was experiencing a lot of breakage and I later found out it was due to my hard water supply and the combs I was using. Another culprit was the amount of care with which I used to manipulate my hair...I used to be careless and quite rough with my hair and I learnt to change the hard way.

What is your stance on trimming? coloring? use of heating tools?
I believe trimming is necessary when there are ends (split ends etc) to be trimmed otherwise, there is no need to trim perfectly heathy ends. I have never colored my hair but I think it's a fun way to change one's look nevertheless, caution should be exercised because a bad coloring experience could permanently damage our precious strands. Though I like my hair color, if ever I were to color my hair, I would use a natural product like henna.

When it comes to heat styling, I prefer to abstain from it. I don't think it's necessary but instead it holds a risk of damaging our hair and after the year I've had, that's a risk I'm not willing to take.

Where do you see your #naturalhair a year from now?
A year from now, by the grace of God, I see my hair to be much healthier and fuller and with some length to go with it :)

Fill-in the blank: The top ___ things I'm LoveN about my #naturalhair.....
The top 3 things I am loving right now about my natural hair is :
1. The versatility : I love the way I can play around with the texture of my hair and come up with endless styles. I can never get bored!
2. How I am learning daily from my hair
3. How my hair does it's thing without being one bit apologetic. i love my funky fro!

Rambles and brambles...unironed creases? Lost? Is there anything else?
LOL. Um...I don't think so. But just as a reminder, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY HAIR. I sure am grateful to God I'm natural and I thank Him for helping me through the journey so far even when I was at my lowest. A big THANK YOU to Kay for featuring me on her lovely blog.
