Lady Klaar: The skin you're in!

Last Thursday I treated myself to a 150 minute full-body service at the ESpa located at the Yas Hotel. The official name of the treatment I had was the Marina Tranquility. This included a Sea and Salt Rub, an Aromatheraphy massage as well as an Intensive Facial. Let's just say it was the best $150.00 I've spent all in once place! Normally this service cost $200.00, however with a teacher discount of 50%, I paid $100 for the service and tipped Sherwin $50.00 because he was so attentive and respectful.

Although I wont go into the details of the treatment, because I will do so on tosogreenwich.blogspot.com, do know that I spent five hours at the spa! When my treatment was done, Sherwin took me to an aromotheraphy room which was so serene with a white couch, white carpet, white pillows and white sheers. Gorgeous. There he provided me with a pamphlet of the products he suggested for my skin. Lets just say the products were as much as the massage, but I was intriqued by the message at the front of the book:
"It is the most natural form of self-interest to look after your skin. It is not a matter of superficial beauty. Althought we all know we feel better when we look better, more importantly it is about healthy living, looking after our bodies so that we live more fulfilled lives."
This is so true. I think it is very important that we don't get wrapped up in the hype of make up, false lashes and contacts, but be more concern with the health of our skin. I've decided to take a more proactive approach to handingling my skin. Especially living in a climate where heat is constant. I've started using a shea butter mix on my face before I go to sleep and putting lotion all over my body and not just on my legs. Of course I'm drinking water, despite it being Ramandan. But, over these next few days I am going to be thinking of several precautions that I need to begin taking now to ensure my skin is the healthiest it can be.

Any suggestions?

  2. I agree, my ultimate goal is to get a massage once a week and a facial once a month. Pampering the skin is essential to me :)

In other news, I gave you a Sunshine Award, check the details here!

  3. I never realized how important it was! You know you just go with the daily flow and don't really pay much attention to it. People tell you you have beautiful skin and you haven't done anything to get there so you don't think much of it! But as I age, I know it's important to be a bit more cautious!

@TRN Thank you!!! Headed to your blog now!! Woot Woot!!
